This evening (Tuesday 20 October) Catherine Meyer will be appearing on London Live to discuss PACT’s new documentary with Luke Blackall.
PACT’s latest documentary film examines the effects of abduction from the point of view of the child and the two estranged estranged parents.
Our new documentary film takes one of the stories from “Victims of Another War” and examines the impact of abduction from the point of view of the two estranged parents, as well as that of the child, now an adult. The film provides a 360-degree view of the phenomenon of child abduction, an experience from which the child, the abductor and the left-behind parent all emerge damaged. This has never been done before.
This is a timely and relevant topic. Parental child abduction continues to be a major problem and its impact on all the family members involved is not well understood. The damage and complications are even greater when the child is taken abroad. PACT believes that this film, in exploring the motives and emotions of the whole family, will be a major contribution to preempting abductions, mediation between warring parents, and a better understanding of what is truly in the best interests of the child.
